Synopse
Pablo Larraín powerfully tests the limits of modern cinema. Ema is the portrait of a woman in flames. Their lives are as experimental and uncompromising as their art, but now dancer Ema and choreographer Gastón have gone too far: after an accident, they bring their 5-year old adoptive son Polo back to the orphanage after only 10 months. Ema soon notices that she cannot live with this decision. She wants Polo back, by whatever means necessary: intrigue, sex – or flame-thrower.

PABLO LARRAÍN (*1976) is one of Latin American cinema’s leading directors. FILMFEST HAMBURG showed his second film Tony Manero in 2008 and No in 2012, which was the first Chilean film to be nominated for an Oscar as best foreign language film.
