Synopse
Flitting between reality and fantasy, this Bolivian drama dives deep into the invisible world of La Paz. Bolivia in the present. After walking for a week with colleagues from the mine, Elder arrives in La Paz. The group is intending to demonstrate for their jobs, but almost as soon as they arrive, Elder starts feeling unwell: short of breath, he constantly feels like he’s going to suffocate. When his condition worsens, wise Mama Pancha sends him to Max, a witch doctor, hermit and clown, who tries to bring Elder back.

Kiro Russo (*1984) ist gebürtiger Bolivianer und studierte Filmregie in Buenos Aires. Für seine Kurzfilme Juku (2012) und New Life gewann er mehrere Preise. Dark Skull ist sein erster Langfilm und erhielt in Locarno eine Lobende Erwähnung.
