Synopse
ESSAY What remains of a generation which grew up among bombs and pop music? A film like an old song – full of longing and melancholy. Sounds and pictures from more than 20,000 sources: a melancholic panorama of archive material and memories which reflect the state of Lebanon’s soul. Lana Daher’s cinematic ethnography investigates how music and collective memory form the psyche of a nation. Instead of a chronological history, she constructs an emotional portrait form the country’s film and music history – marked by nostalgia, resistance and the eternal questions of home and belonging.
