Synopse
Marianna is a big woman in her mid-40s. A short time ago she sued her parents in order to be allowed to undergo a sex-change operation. Alienated from her mother and only in sporadic contact with her closest friends, Marianna seeks to escape in a theatre group that wants to put on a play based on her story. As the day of her operation approaches, a tender romance develops between Marianna and an older gentleman which gives her some hope. But her biggest fear remains - that of losing what means the most to her: her family. Marianna struggles with the question: how much do I have to sacrifice in order to be myself? Call Me Marianna is a moving homage to a free choice of one's own identity.
