Synopse
In the heart of Islam: a thriller set in the al-Azhar University in Cairo reveals Egyptian society as heavily influenced by power games. For Adam, son of a simple fisherman, a dream has come true – he has won a scholarship to study at the renowned al-Azhar University, the epicentre of the Islamic world. When the dean suddenly dies in front of his students, a power struggle begins to decide his successor. The dubious civil servant Ibrahim takes on Adam as an informer, thus placing him firmly between the country's political and religious elites, but also putting him in deadly danger.
