Synopse
Two interwoven episodes in which director Sho Miyake sensitively observes how strangers meet. This Japanese film won the Golden Leopard in Locarno. In the summer, young Nagisa meets Natsuo in a small town by the sea, who is there visiting his relatives. Cautiously, they circle each other, until the encounter dissolves in the rain and the heaving sea. This episode is then linked to the story of screenplay author Li, who is planning to spend the winter in a snowy little town to work on a new idea. She gets stranded in a run-down hotel belonging to Banzo, a reserved man, whose past slowly comes to light.
