Synopse

A summer of opportunities between childhood and adulthood – a wild, chaotic and unpredictable ode to living together. Blazing sunshine, a cooling river and the lush colours of nature in the Département Drôme: 19-year old Shaï and Djeneba work in a holiday camp, worlds away from their high-rise flats in Paris. While they look after a group of kids, they themselves are at a crossroads in their lives. This summer, they have to redefine their friendship, while around them the children are discovering their own independence, questioning the world with refreshing directness and challenging it with endless energy.

ROMANE GUERET and LISE AKOKA won international acclaim with The Worst Ones (FFHH 2022) and also the main prize in the section »Un Certain Regard« in Cannes, where Summer Beats also had its premiere.
