Synopse

SERIES How far will humans go when it comes to fighting for resources? Thirty years after the publication of the novel ‘Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow,’ this dystopian story is more topical and relevant today than ever before. The near-future adaptation is set in Greenland and Denmark in 2040: society is monitored by bodycams and drones. Energy is a privilege of the rich, and migrants lead a second-class existence. When Isaiah, the Greenlandic boy next door, falls from the roof of a high-rise building, Smilla Jaspersen (Filippa Coster-Waldau), who is half Greenlandic, is torn from her loneliness. Together with Rahid (Elyas M'Barek), she uncovers the corrupt system of energy companies and politics.

Regie

AMMA ASANTE MBE ist eine mehrfach preisgekrönte Drehbuchautorin und Regisseurin, die für ihren ersten Film A Way of Life (2004) einen BAFTA-Award gewann. Damit war Amma die erste Schwarze Regisseurin, die einen BAFTA-Filmpreis für das Drehbuch und die Regie eines Spielfilms erhielt. Der Film wurde weltweit mit weiteren 17 Preisen ausgezeichnet, darunter der FIPRESCI-Preis und der Grand Jury Prize.
