Synopse

DOCUMENTARY In 2018, Elon Musk opened the headquarters of his company SpaceX in Boca Chica, Texas. The company is concentrating on conquering Mars and the film shows in stark monochrome photography the consequences, both for the Earth and space. Once upon a time, it was the sea’s waves that dictated the rhythm of life in Boca Chica at the mouth of the Rio Grande. But then the swamps were drained, the beaches closed and the houses bought up. The area is now a space base and a Mecca for rocket fans who dream of moving to space. But what is a vision of the future for some is seen with concern by others: environmentalists criticize the destruction of nature and astrophysicists warn of the danger of space debris.
