Synopse

Not my child: a multi-layered drama paints a nuanced picture of motherhood in Israeli society. Anat, a single mother and enthusiastic teacher of literature at a primary school, can’t wait for her son to be discharged from the army. But right on the day of his planned return, war breaks out on the border with Lebanon. The condition of her traumatized father Yakov worsens and from Ido comes the news that all discharges have been suspended. Anat sets heaven and earth in motion to get her son home – but when he does return briefly, their close relationship is put under enormous pressure.

Born in Israel, NETALIE BRAUN is a poet and film director. She was artistic director of the Israeli Women’s Film Festival and is currently a lecturer and leader of the MFA programme at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television of Tel Aviv University.
