Synopse
DOCUMENTARY A heartening coming-of-age film about finding one’s own voice, resilience and the complexity of growing up. Karla is 15 and lives in Tepoztlán in Mexico, a remote place full of mysticism. She is in the middle of her gender transition – a chaotic, but liberating journey to herself. Director Kani Lapuerta accompanied her for 8 years in her search for autonomy in a society that still largely thinks in binary categories. Supported by her family and her queer community, she slowly attains adulthood – an individual and a universal experience in equal measure.
