Synopse

With striking imagery and an impressive lead actor, a film about a moral dilemma in the era of Late Capitalism. Fren works in the HR department of a large company and is privately struggling with a difficult decision: she is one month pregnant and has to decide whether she wants to bring a child into such a fragile world. A subtly eery feeling runs through the film that in the current system progress is even turning against those who could be seen as privileged. While time runs out for her decision, outside the perfect interior her fellow humans increasingly appear to be a threat – and Human Resource becomes a philosophical reflection on what it means to be thrown into this world.

NAWAPOL THAMRONGRATTANARIT is a self-taught director from Thailand who has been feted by the critics. He has already been featured three times at FILMFEST HAMBURG: in 2013 with 36, 2014 with Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy, for which he won the NDR Young Talent Prize, and 2020 with Happy Old Year.
