Synopse

Catch me if you can in Sachsen: a tragicomedy based on a real case. Georg, an excellent improviser, wants the best for his child, who suffers from epilepsy – and finds it in a chic daycare centre in Leipzig. But he can’t admit he’s unemployed and his wife is a cleaner. With a fake biography and rusty charm, the alleged event manager fiddles his way into favour with the hip parents, organises flea markets and barbecues, smokes weed and takes charge of the funds. The half a million Euros Georg finds there he sees as a “present” which allows him to live it up – as he increasingly begins to resemble the hip parents. But while he juggles credit cards, his fake existence begins to turn against him. 

Regie

ESTER AMRAMI was born in Israel and studied at the HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg. For films like Anderswo (2014) and Wir (2022) she won the Studio Hamburg Talent Prize, the Grimme Prize and the Berlinale’s Dialogue en Perspective. Her series Best Family Forever was shown in 2024 at FILMFEST HAMBURG.
