Synopse

The biting humour of this Iranian satire does not just come from the comedy, but the absurdity of repression. Bahram is a 40-year old film-maker who has spent his entire career making films that could not be shown in Iran. His latest work, which the Culture Ministry has again refused to approve, brings him to the brink of defiance. With his sharp-tongued, Vespa-driving producer Sadaf at his side, he sets out on a mission to present his films to the Iranian public – and sidestep the state censors, the absurd bureaucracy and his own doubts.

Regie

Born in Tehran, ALI ASGARI is an important new voice in Iranian cinema. His collaboration with Alireza Khatami Irdische Verse (FFHH 2023) was shown at numerous festivals. Divine Comedy had its world premiere at the Biennale in Venice.
