Synopse
18 women, a studio in Rome and a fantastic dress that has to be sewn: the new film from Ferzan Özpetek is an opulent homage to beauty, the strength of female solidarity – and the narrative power of the costume. 1974. The two very different sisters Alberta und Gabriella have a renowned tailoring business in Rome and are commissioned to dress a major film set in the 18th century. As time is of the essence, they start work immediately. They not only have to deal with a complex task and their boss’ leadership style, they also have their own problems: domestic violence, trouble with the kids, financial worries. But the women are like diamonds: indestructible.
