Synopse
Between heteronomy and autonomy: a young girl in Sudan finds out how she would like to live. In a Sudanese village which lives from cotton growing, Nafisa grows up with the stories told by her grandmother Al-Sit – a strong matriarch, who had once fought against the British colonialists. But when a young businessman turns up with new seeds for the cotton plants and big promises for the village, things start to change. Nafisa has to face the family’s expectations and preplanned paths in order to find her own way in a world which has no universal compass.
