Synopse

How much fulfilment do we get from what we do? What are we worth to ourselves? A moving, powerful portrait of a man who takes a radical, intensely personal decision. After many years as a successful photographer, one day Franck decides to give up his job and finally do what he’s always wanted: write. He publishes his first novel, but the book doesn’t sell. The royalties aren’t enough to live on, so Franck takes on badly paid odd jobs: as a courier, a waiter or a workman. Despite his precarious position, he sticks to his decision and starts work on a second book. His passion is so strong that he is prepared to pay the price.

Born in France, VALÉRIE DONZELLI started out acting, before switching to direction in 2008. Her autobiographical film Das Leben gehört uns (2011) gained international renown.
