Synopse

Beyond seeing and hearing: a sensitive debut feature about the beauty, contradictions and strife in a love that is bigger than the circumstances. Kati is deaf. Florian is blind. But when they meet, they find a language beyond words and looks – a language of closeness. For outsiders, their love seems impossible and for that very reason it is overwhelming. Neither the silence nor the darkness stands between them, but the effort to really understand each other – and the courage to withstand everything. An intense journey full of highs and lows takes its course: two people who live and love with all their senses.

Regie

Born in Ahlen, MILAN SKROBANEK studied film at the Hamburg University of Visual Arts and the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseilles. During his studies, he made three short films and a full-length documentary about the German table tennis team. Als wäre es leicht was nominated for the German Screenplay Prize and is his full-length debut.
