Director Wendla Nölle, screenwriter Greta Lorez, producer Andrea Schütte and Sabine Holtgreve (NDR) talk about their collaboration. They are all the filmmakers of Quiet Freedom and give insight into the development and production process as a creative team at eye level.The development of this story, which is very much influenced by the makers’ own life stories, benefited extraordinarily from the work in a committed team of women and from a safe and creative space characterised by similar worlds of experience and great respect.

About the film
Juditha (Dagmar Manzel) and Erik (Rolf Lassgård) have lived a fulfilled life – despite all the ups and downs and above all Juditha‘s early diagnosis of multiple-sclerosis. The university professor’s retirement was supposed to herald in the shared final years, but getting used to their new everyday life is hard: now of all times, Juditha’s illness progresses apace and Erik is worried about domestic constriction. It takes a long time for the couple to express their fears and wishes – until they recognize that they have to take some decisions in order to find their own personal freedom.
