German Unity Day – Free Admission Day: ARD under Christoph Pellander gave head writer, creator and actor Lamin Leroy Gibba and his team a largely free hand to shoot a series in Hamburg’s BIPoC and LGBTQIA+ community. The resulting series, Black Fruits, is the result of free artistic work by a diverse creative team with a flat hierarchy and tells stories beyond TV standards from the perspective of the reality of life for queer Black people in Hamburg.
After the screening of the first three episodes, there will be a discussion with Lamin Leroy Gibba and the actors and writers of the series. Three further episodes will then be shown. As part of the TV section, the series Black Fruits will be shown out of competition.
