In the coalition agreement of the “Ampel” government, both models are on an equal footing. Yet the differences are significant: are tax incentive models the push needed for the film industry or should the big streaming platforms be obliged to invest more in the German film market? Or does the solution lie somewhere in the middle?
In short keynote speeches, Anne Baumgärtel from Deloitte and Klaus Goldhammer from Goldmedia will give an insight into the two models. While Baumgärtel will discuss the advantages of the tax credits model, Goldhammer will present the results of his “platform study”, which advocates the introduction of an investment obligation.
Followed by a discussion:
Katharina Hiersemenzel, Constantin Film
Christian Sommer, Germany Motion Picture Association
Malte Grunert, Amusement Park Films
Ulrich Höcherl, publisher and editor-in-chief of Blickpunkt:Film, will moderate the discussion.
The event can also be seen via the Filmfest livestream.
The discussion is part of the All You Need is Law event series of MOIN Filmfoerderung in cooperation with the media law firms GRAEF, UNVERZAGT and VON HAVE FEY. Media partner is Blickpunkt:Film.
