At the age of twenty, Bettina Clasen left her home city of Hamburg and moved to Paris. She wanted to find out “where the world, my world” is, but without knowing what she was looking for. Twenty years later, she returns to Hamburg, and starts a new search – for the city of her childhood, and for what made her long to go away. Her film diary accompanies her on her return, concerning itself with questions of identity and belonging, of what it is to feel at home, or to go away. A highly personal and poeticdocumentary film essay.
