Simon is a brooder and an oddball who’s currently preoccupied with several problems at once: his sexuality, for which he can find no way of letting off steam, and everyday life on the farm: for his father, he can never do anything right. Simon‘s attractive mother also never really dreamed of being a farmer‘s wife and has resigned herself unwillingly to her fate. A nagging guilt overshadows the relationship between mother and son. Then a period of drought threatens the farm‘s existence, demanding full commitment from everyone. When a tragic accident occurs, the family faces a radically new situation.
