Mina takes on a job in Istanbul as fortune-teller in a cafe, although she has no mystical abilities whatsoever. While she pretends to see the future in the bottom of a coffee cup, she merely projects her own frustrations and longings on her female customers. Mina is in trouble: she's divorced, has no contact with her family and is about to be thrown out of her flat. Her great dream is of emigrating to the USA.But for that she needs money, the necessary papers and a visa. Will she manage to take her fate in her hands, instead of prophesying those of other people? A quiet film about a life and a country at the crossroads.
