15-year-old Lilli is taken tohospital, the diagnosis is leukaemia. Ata stroke, being in hospital dictates her everyday life. In the sheltered world of the cancerdepartment, the most important people for Lilli are her parents. Andthat is precisely the problem. Her mother Emma(Katharina Böhm) has been separated from her father for years and he hasrecently started a new family. But nowLilli is ill and all the members of the patchwork family have to pullthemselves together, no matter how long for. A gentle film based on a true story with the message that there aretimes when it becomes clear what really matters in life.
