Jens Huckeriede retraces the history of the Gebrüder Wolf, popular German-Jewish musichall artists of the early 20th century. His starting point is a visit by rap-artist and actor, Dan Wolf, from San Francisco to Hamburg, the city where his grandfather’s band started their remarkablecareer before being forced to flee from the Nazis. The continuing popularity of the Gebrüder Wolf’s songs is illustrated by the “Tüdelband” song, still widely known today. A film documenting popular culture in Hamburg, from the days of cabaret to the city’s vibrant hip-hop scene of the present.
