A few years ago, when the developed world was booming, bankers and stockbrokers did not envision the inevitable crash. No country epitomized this rise and fall better than Iceland. An economic supernova, too rich to fail and totally incorruptible, Iceland went in a matter of weeks from the spoiled bastard child of Scandinavia to being bankrupt. Against this backdrop The Best Party was born. What started out as a joke in the mind of Iceland's most controversial and cynical comedian Jon Gnarr, turned into a serious alternative to the established political forces.
