Dance superstar Chi Cao plays another dance superstar in the true tale of Mao‘s Last Dancer. Chi, the principal dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in England, is making his acting debut in Mao‘s Last Dancer, a film based on the true story of his countryman, Li Cunxin, a dancer who defected from China during the era of Mao Zedong and landed – with graceful ease – at the Houston Ballet.
