[⏵] An absurd comedy from Gaza. At the centre: an old man in love and the god of male beauty. A Hamburg co-production which ran in Venice in the section »Orizzonti«.Gaza, the present day: Issa, around 60, lives as a fisherman in Gaza harbour. He’s secretly in love with the divorced market stallholder Siham (Hiam Abbass). One day Issa finds a bronze statue of the Greek god Apollo in his net – sporting an impressive erect penis. This find is just the first of many disturbances for Issa. The god of male beauty turns his life upside down, along with the lives of all around him – and proves a test for the hypocritical, backward government of Gaza.
