Back to the big bang: an atmospherically dense debut feature links sci fi with auteur cinema and describes the creeping transformation of the world into its constituent parts. At the foot of the Jura Mountains, 17-year old P. A. and his clique are spending their last years at school. A hundred metres below them, scientists are conducting a gigantic experiment: with the aid of the Large Hadron Collider, the most powerful particle accelerator in the world, they want to reconstruct the first microsecond after the big bang. As winter sets in, P. A. becomes aware that everything around him is being displaced. Glowing particles, abnormalities in the landscape, tiny changes in the ecosystem. The metabolism of the world has begun.
