A man fights for his dignity in a thrilling urban Western which is at the same time a parable about life in contemporary Italy.
A ramshackle Italian coastal town, where the law of the jungle rules. Gangling, gentle canine hairdresser Marcello can just about scratch a living for himself and his daughter Alida, whom he loves above all else. But the town is tyrannized by ex-boxer Simone. Little by little, the newly released ex-con and mafioso forces himself into Marcello's life and threatens his existence. Determined to win back his dignity, Marcello hatches a plan to exact terrible revenge. Marcello Fonte was awarded Best Actor at Cannes for his portrayal of Marcello.
