Jacques Blanchot has lost everything: his wife, his flat, his job. Not all that surprising, as no-one wants very much to do with this "man without qualities", who can't even get the attention of the guy who lives next door. Now completely alone, Blanchot decides to buy a dog. When it unexpectedly dies, Blanchot takes its place on the dog training course – and seems to have found his vocation. Better to be at someone's side than alone! Chien
is a wonderfully wacky film which portrays interaction and togetherness in surreal tones and with a healthy pinch of irreverence.
