A schoolgirl is brutally murdered, seven men are involved in the crime and they now become the hunted: seven shadows are on their heels, looking for justice for the murdered girl. They too don't hesitate to use brutal methods in their search for the truth. Thus, one perpetrator after another is punished. But are the measures taken by the avengers just? Kim Ki-duk's dark film plumbs the depths of the human soul and asks awkward questions about the relationship between crime and justice, order and obedience.
