Nicole is supposed to look after her parents' house while they're away -- the To Do list they leave her is endless. But she has her own agenda for the summer: hanging out by the pool with her best friend Veronique and going for the occasional wander in the fields nearby. Then Nicole's elder brother turns up with his band and wants to record an album in the house. The holidays suddenly take a completely unexpected turn -- accompanied by a heatwave, Nicole's increasing lack of sleep and the persistent advances of a ten-year old boy.
You're Sleeping Nicole – by the Oscar-nominated producers of
Monsieur Lazhar and
Gabrielle – is a wonderfully quirky indie comedy shot in monochrome and full of surreal, magical moments.
