Simon Staho describes his film as “a tribute to excessive love. To a love that demands sacrifices, scars and gunshot wounds.” It centres on the young, lesbian couple Ida and Karin. Karin wants to face her past, in which her father used to abuse her. Love, death, fear and vengeance are the central themes in this intense, uncompromising drama about a parricide and the dreadful consequences of sexual abuse. The film offers no consolation. Not even to the lovers.
