With his wife and children, Oscar Ramirez leaves their poor village in the North of the Philippines and travels to Manila to earn money. This boiling hot monster of a city immediately proves too much for the newcomers, who are easy prey for tricksters and shady businessmen. But when Oscar gets a steady job with a security company, everything seems to be turning out fine. As it happens, the new job is just a short cut to the brutal world of violent crime. A thriller, and a drama about the hopelessness of people in need who only want to secure the families' existence but get little or no chance.
