Yuvaz has got the blues. The music teacher from Istanbul, who occasionally sings French chansons in shopping centres, wears a toupet and has the feeling that he is old and the world is passing him by. When offered the chance of a gig in the provinces, he naturally jumps at it. One of his pupils, Neşe, accompanies him to Anatolia. For Yuvaz, Neşe is ray of hope. Her energy infects the ageing entertainer and his life gains new elan. But Yuvaz' performances in the run-down nightclub don't prove particularly popular, wheras Neşe goes from strength to strength. Her feelings too, develop differently to how Yuvaz had hoped.
