Like generations before him, Farmer Gaby tries to make his farm in Québec Province profitable. Even if his everyday life is hard, he couldn't imagine a life not spent with his sheep and lambs. Then his daughter gets into financial difficulties in Montréal and Gaby can see no other solution than to sell the farm. Beautifully shot and totally lacking in romantic sentiment, this moving family melodrama portrays traditional country life and won the prize for best screenplay at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes.
