Story
Doğan is tired and burned out. To recover, he takes time off from his job as architect, leaves Istanbul and drives to the North-East of Anatolia. He grew up in the mountains near the town of Gümüşhane and hasn’t been back for years. But the journey back to his roots takes him into foreign territory. The modern has taken over his home, with disjointed settlements and dams cutting through the countryside. The tiniest streams are redirected into pipelines to generate energy and money. On his forays he compares his memories with the present. He seeks himself and finds the alien. Home is a contemplative, poetic lament about a double loss: of childhood and of nature.
