Story

New York filmmaker Ry Russo-Young and actress Stella Schnabel (daughter of director Julian Schnabel) worked together in developing the character of Shelly Brown, protagonist of “You Won’t Miss Me”. Shelly is on a quest for a sense of identity and a purpose in life, and has just been released from psychiatric care. A kaleidoscope portrait full of an adolescent longing for acceptance and social affiliation and expressing what it means to be young today, reflected inthe film’s use of YouTube, video chats and camcorders.
