Story
In Notes from Underground, Dostoevsky portrayed one of literature’s most famous anti-heroes. In Inside, Zeki Demirkubuz puts him on the screen and in the present. Like Dostoevsky’s hero, Muharrem is an outsider, locked into a world of hate and contempt. He lives on skid row, watching animal films and masturbating on his sofa. At night, he goes to dark squares to meet prostitutes. At dinner with old friends, the squalor of his life is brought home to Muharrem – above all, a prize-winning author drives him into a fury of rage and self-loathing. Inside is the disturbing, visually outstanding inside view of a sociopath.
