Story

SERIES A dark comedy of moments when people ask themselves: Why me? An anthology of egomania and callousness. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, it gets worse. We watch as people head towards the precipice and ask themselves the frequently final question: Is it karma, fate or stupidity? Observers can only thank their lucky stars that this time it isn’t them! In each episode, different characters are in the spotlight: an ageing, formerly successful singer (Charly Hübner), an unscrupulous restaurant manager (Oskar Ortega-Sanchez) or an unpopular, alcoholic company boss (Thomas Schubert) who apparently have nothing to do with each other. Yet some of them do come together, in apparently chance meetings.

Director

DAVID SCHALKO (*1968 in Austria) works as producer, author, showrunner and director. Series under his direction include M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder (2019), Ich und die Anderen (2021) and Kafka (2024).
