Story

Two people turn their back on society. This fascinating dramatic fever dream transcends the rules of logic and realism. The young Tunesian soldier S. is repulsed by the brutality of the army and the way his unit is forced to hunt down terrorists and kill them. He uses the funeral of his mother as a chance to desert and flees into the woods. A few years later, dressed in rags and armed with primitive weapons, he meets a young pregnant woman. She too has fled – a life of luxury as the wife of a rich businessman – and falls under the strange spell of S.

Director

ALA EDDINE SLIM (*1982) makes documentaries and feature films, as well as experimental videos. He has received many awards for his work, which is closely linked to the Arab Spring, most recently for The Last of Us (2016).
