Story
At first glance, Tinghir is a perfectly normal small town in the mountains of Southern Morocco. But it was once home to a significant Jewish community. In the early 1960s, most of the local Jews packed their bags and emigrated to Israel. What had happened? The French-Moroccan film director Kamal Hachkar seeks an answer to this question. He asks the old people in Tinghir, who can still remember the co-existence with the Jewish Berbers. And he travels to Israel to meet the former emigrants. A film about islands of tolerance and sudden exodus. Screening on 30.09. in attendance of: Kamal Hachkar (Director)
