Story
La La Land after the apocalypse: with a dream cast, Joshua Oppenheimer presents one family’s nightmarish life as a claustrophobic musical. The earth is burning. Life is barely possible on the surface. A mega-rich family have withdrawn to their luxury bunker and spent the last two decades in a salt mine. Underground, life is good: father (Michael Shannon) and son (George MacKay) are rebuilding the old world with model railways, while mother (Tilda Swinton) decorates the rooms with art classics. The butler makes sure everyone’s comfortable. Then one day Girl (Moses Ingram) appears at the entrance to the bunker and the balance in the family starts to slip.
