Ordinary Tenderness
OT: Tendresse ordinaire
Jacques Leduc | Canada, 1973
Fiction Feature | FF2012
Story
A man and a woman and their love for one another. From constantly changing perspectives, the film tells his and her experiences, impression and memories over the course of a few days. He, Jocelyn, was away from home for four months. Now he returns, travelling across wintry Québec, first by train then after a night in a hotel in the car of someone he met while travelling. By evening, only a river separates him from his wife, but he has missed the last ferry. She, Esther, is waiting for him on the other side. At first with a girlfriend, then night falls and she is alone. A poetic masterpiece.
