Frankfurt. For days, one elderly inhabitant of a tidy suburban estate has been missing. His neighbour Nils Engels (Jan Krauter) is suspected to have something to do with his disappearance. The IT specialist is seen as an oddball. He’s turned his house into a citadel, as he feels disturbed by his neighbours. They in turn hold him responsible for the disappearance of various pets. And inspectors Anna Janneke and Paul Brix do indeed find traces of blood in his house.
