Story
DOCUMENTARY The heart of darkness: a film that plunges deep into the Jihadist world in Kurdistan prisons. Thanks to the efforts of mainly Kurdish forces, the creation of an IS caliphate in the Middle East failed. Thousands of members of the Islamic State – men, woman and children – are still in prison in Northern Syria. With rare frankness, the extremists, often themselves with European roots, talk about their ideology, their experiences and motivation for their acts. At the same time, the film shows impressions from a region traumatised by a brutal war and desperate to keep the fragile peace.
