The reality of failure is hard to admit for us immigrants, in western coutries. The Parisian Africans keep that image of a dream and myth of Eldorado alive. But it’s a deformation of reality. Maintaining the myth of a western paradise is responsible for so many tormented fates. For myself and for others, I need to meet those who came here before me so I can understand the truth hiding behind the myth.

Eléonore Yameogo (*1978) was born in Burkina Faso, where she trained first on film sets and then at the ISIS in Ouagadougou to become a director. She has realized several documentaries.
