Story
Uwe Hinrichs (Dieter Hallervorden) is a loner who insists on speaking the North German dialect Plattdeutsch and describes himself as the last “genuine East Frisian”. He wants nothing to do with globalisation and the modern world. When his house is impounded and a group of foreign experts quartered in it, he has to look after the Utländer, or foreigners, against his will. So, instead of High German he teaches them Plattdeutsch.
